MORE TO THE STORY
Bekah’s mother Carole was my best friend, who died of a brain tumor in 2015. As I was putting together the Finding Our Voices launch exhibit in 2019, Bekah paid me a visit and we discovered that the last time Bekah, me, and Carole were together all three of us were trapped in domestic violence with the men who were telling us they loved us. None of us, —mother/daughter; daughter/mother; best friends—realized it.
