WHO CAN JOIN
Our Book Club is open to those who identify as survivors and also those who do not. If you are interested in opening your eyes, minds, and hearts to domestic abuse and seeing it from all angles, this is for you.
WHAT IT IS
The Book Club is facilitated by Finding Our Voices CEO and Founder Patrisha McLean and Mary Lou Smith. We meet online for 90 minutes an average of seven times a year.
WHAT WE READ
We look at life through the lens of domestic abuse, because domestic abuse really is everywhere. Authors usually join our online discussion. Some of the books come at domestic abuse straight on and some come at it sideways, for instance we read a series of books on cults because of the similarity to cults and domestic abuse. Authors who have joined us include Sarah Perry with “After the Eclipse”, Donna Kaz (ex of the late actor and serial abuser William Hurt) with “(Un) Masked Memoir of a Guerilla Girl”, and Kate Moore with “The Woman They Could Not Silence.”
