For decades in Maine, half of all homicides have been domestic violence. Also for decades in Maine and across our country domestic abuse has been in the shadows, resulting in false stereotypes and misplaced shame. Home continues to be the most dangerous place for women and children.

Finding Our Voices is building a community of Maine domestic abuse survivors, busting isolation, stigma, and shame. Our ground-breaking public campaigns and meaningful peer-support is bringing domestic abuse and its victims INTO THE LIGHT for personal safety and healing, and systemic change.

Our Founder and CEO

In 2016, Patrisha's celebrity husband was arrested for domestic violence. The headlines of this arrest, telling the world of her 29-year secret, were mortifying. But this news prompted women all around Patrisha in her hometown of Camden, Maine to tell Patrisha that they too had been through domestic abuse: THIS sparked Finding Our Voices.
