Here are some of our programs!
Online Support Group
"I really appreciate the group discussions:
They bring up so many muddled issues to be sorted, cleaned and healed."
For four years, Maine women survivors of intimate partner abuse have been meeting online, Mondays at 6pm in a safe, non-judgemental and loving space.
Our group ranges from about 12 to 28 participants. Some have been out for more than a decade, some are freshly out, and some are still living with their abuser. Many are being subjected to post-separation abuse, and some are estranged from their adult children due to the manipulation of their ex.

Finding Our Smiles
This groundbreaking program provides cosmetic and critical care, restoring confidence, physical health, and smiles for Maine women and children whose dental problem stems from domesetic abuse and who don't have the money to fix it.
Dignified, donated dental care for Maine women and child domestic abuse survivors
Dentists are inveterate fixers, we like to make a bad situation better. And the really fantastic thing about "Finding Our Smiles" is we are not only fixing a dental situation, but helping to put a whole life back together. — Dr. Polly Nichols of Topsham Dental Arts
Get Out, Stay Out
As a hand-up for women survivors to get safe and get their children safe, and get on the road to freedom and independence, we provide payments for such critical items as shelter, car expenses, legal fees. These payments are often in collaboration with social service agencies including New Hope for Women and Homeworthy and Families First homeless agencies.
Healing Together
Through generous scholarships, we are able to offer our healing retreats on a sliding scale fee.
Our 2023 and 2024 retreats focused on memoir writing, led by Deborah Joy Corey and Deb Gould, at a Camden lakeside home and on Vinalhaven.
This fall, we are offering two day-long retreats, in Bar Harbor on October 5 and in Bath on October 26, that include self-defense, art and writing. Apply here: Bar Harbor Retreat Bath Retreat
Gifts from the Heart
We mail out gift packets every day to our survivor sisters across Maine that include personally-inscribed books that were helpful during our journeys, yellow writing journals, our rubber bracelet, and handmade jewelry and other crafts.
